HE SEEMS HARMLESS, BUT...

EDJUMACATION:
· Belfast Royal Academy (Ten Ordinary Level General Certificate Of Education Passes in Languages, Sciences, Arts & Two Advanced Level in English & Economics).
· University of N. Ireland (Higher National Diploma in Business Studies)
Most of which was of no use at all but kept me out of trouble…sometimes.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Founding member of Irish band Stiff Little Fingers and Sinead O’Connor’s backing group...amongst others. And, like many ex-bass players somehow found myself setting up gigs and organizing things (nobody else could be arsed)… From 1987 I was managing and producing concert tours (including my own) at all levels: clubs, theaters, arenas, festivals, touring events, TV broadcasts, AA conventions…

WHAT I DO:
  • Liase with theBooking Agent and Local Promoters on itinerary schedules so we actually make the show for the next morning

  • Provide/ hire Touring Personnel and all Production Suppliers as necessary, willing or not.

  • Construct/ amend Riders tailored to the Artist’s particular…specs.

  • Create impressively bound and hugely detailed accurate Tour books that nobody except Greta reads.

  • Advance all shows with the Promoter and/ or local Production Manager to make sure the Contract and Tech Rider conditions are followed to the letter!

  • Then sit down, make sure it all works and we all get to go home afterwards…


    • TOUR ACCOUNTANCY:
  • Provide comprehensive Tour Budgets, Income Projections, Daily Reports.

  • Work with Promoters and Local Authorities to minimize Tax outlay wherever possible.

  • Provide multi- currency accounts and track/ report ongoing expenses.

  • Reconcile accounts by Territory, Period, Per capita etc. as requested.

  • Cover all ongoing Tour Expenses as necessary e.g. Accommodation, Transport, Production, Catering, Per Diems, Vitamins etc.

  • Ensure show costs stay within budget and negotiate overages with promoter.


    • Additional professional activities 1992-1994
    Co-Founded and coordinated the voluntary Peace Together Charitable Trust (of which I am still an active Trustee) which organized live concerts in Ireland and compiled a studio recording to aid music-orientated child & youth organizations in Northern Ireland. Featured Peter Gabriel, Lou Reed, U2, Sinéad O'Connor, New Order, Therapy?, Blur etc. CD still pops up occasionally on ebay…


    LANGUAGES:
    French & German basic. Anglo-Saxon as first language.
